Issue with controlling Proclaim slides from iPad

I was preaching this morning - two talks of about 15 minutes long

As I normally do I was controlling slides using the Preach mode on the Logos app (build 22.0.0 (46)).

Partway through the first talk I lost the ability to control slides from the app - and when I started the second talk it wasn't working then either.

When I got to the second talk, before trying to use preching mode in the Logos app I tried to control the slides directly from the Proclaim Remote app and that didn't work either.

I had seen something similar a couple of weeks ago.

As I was preaching, I didn't have a lot of opportunity to troubleshoot! But the fact that there was an issue with both the Logos app and the Proclaim remote suggests - at least to me - that the issue was somewhere with communicating with the Proclaim server or the Proclaim server not processing commands correctly.

(In the Proclaim remote I did have the Logos Wi-Fi setting enabled).

I've just tested it at home and it works absolutely fine - with both the Proclaim Remote and the Logos Bible App

Is anyone else seeing intermittent issues of this type? Any thoughts on what might be going on?

I'll list to this in the Proclaim forum as it sounds like a Proclaim issue to me

    Graham,

I am very sorry to hear about this poor experience.  Our Proclaim dev team is aware of these issues and we are moving our backend support for this functionality to a new provider called Signal R.  Based on our early testing, this is going to vastly improve both reliability as well as performance for controlling presentations remotely.

This work is currently ongoing and we are aiming to have this done here in Q1 of 2023.

    Thanks Austin

Great to hear it is recognised and being worked on
