Reading List for Catechism in a Year

There seems to be a widely popular podcast by Fr. Mike Schmitz who will read through the CCC in the year 2023 (each session with a short introduction and a recap) - I got to know it through youtube https://www.youtube.com/@TheCatechismInAYear but for those who listen to podcasts you'll surely find a way to locate it. People may like to just listen to it, or follow along in a paper copy, but surely Logos/Verbum users will want to follow along in the CCC we have here and e.g. highlight and make notes. At least I do.

The Reading Plan - with the nice structure of the four "pillars"sections in the CCC - is available as PDF from https://ascensionpress.com/ciy and I have converted it into a Reading Plan document, shared in the public section of your Logos/Verbum documents or directly here: https://flshare.net/r37oy9 (note that it has only 361 readings since four episodes = reading days will be introductions to the upcoming section of the CCC).

    Verbum/Logos seems to ignore this basic need - not just for Catholics:

    I think that the functionality to make automatic reading plans for any book should do for most of these - not sure right now if the current version makes the weekly breaks in the reformed catechism exactly where each Sunday begins - but the point we see very often here in the forums is that people want to follow along with a group that uses an existing plan.

    I myself tried to make the reading plan, with the four intro days pointing to the last paragraph of the prior day's readings. For some reason, though, I could not get Verbum to generate the plan properly. Is there an outline of steps that you used to do this?

    I agree with others here that the steps for creating custom reading plans are not intuitive, and since I only do this once a year, I must look up how to do this all over again.

    I wouldn't expect the Logos/Verbum algorithm to automatically find the exact same borders CIY choose, so I used the select, drag and drop method - made the CCC smallest size and thus many days fit within the page.

    In the Verbum group on Faithlife someone shared a CIY plan that was done by typing in the CCC references for the custom reading plan. 

    Both ways are repetitive and somewhat uncool. There may be an alternative way by feeding Logos/Verbum with a text string of readings (like many do with exotic bible reading plans), but I don't know how that would work. It would be much better (in my opinion) if one could simply have the program autogenerate an approximative plan and then insert, delete or move the breaks to fit.

    Thanks for your question! Logos Bible Software is a great tool for studying the Bible. It has a variety of features that make it easy to search, study, and compare different passages. It also has a library of resources that can help you better understand the Bible. You can also use Logos to create your own study notes and highlight important passages.
