March Matchups 2023 is here

Hi all,

I’m excited to announce that voting for March Matchups is officially underway!

Just like last year, we are putting Logos users in control of the final products (and ultimately, their discounts).

If you’re new to March Matchups or just need a refresher, here’s how it works this year:

Visit the March Matchups voting page to start “drafting” your picks and see what’s eligible.
Add your most sought-after Logos resources (the ones you’d love to get a discount on) to your wishlist.
Submit your picks by February 5 to make sure they’re considered.

On March 1, our brackets will max out with 64 Logos resources and 32 Mobile Ed courses competing for the championship. The further they get in the brackets, the deeper the discount!

Since voting closes February 5, I wanted to make sure you have plenty of time to get your votes in. And I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone’s most-wanted Logos items wind up being.

Yes, this is clearly an example of poor communication. I have no idea what is the Logos.com product page. A link would help. On logos.com you have a link to the march madness announcement. That is all I can find.

I have a wish list. I guess the product page is supposed to show us resources we can add to our wish list that are eligible for March Madness. But I do not know where that product page is

They mean the web page on the Logos site that details the product you would like to add to your wishlist. Like this for example https://www.logos.com/product/8803/new-interpreters-bible-a-commentary-in-twelve-volumes

Regarding the question around logos.com product pages -- What are they? These are the page you'll find specific information about each book or collection (e.g. https://www.logos.com/product/177388/influences-on-the-thought-of-c-s-lewis-collection is a collection I've been eyeing lately) or you can also add items to your wishlist from any search!

We will take into account products on all wishlists that are eligible for the draft, so feel free to add new products or refine your current lists to make sure your top products are included!

Thank you. So basically, we are encouraged to continue adding resources to our wishlist as we do throughout the year.

And basically, there is really nothing else to do. It seems that faithlife is going to figure out what are the most popular resources that appear in wishlists throughout their customer base and use them for March Madness. is that correct?

I just noticed from the rules that " products that shipped in the last 12 months." are not eligible. Can we have clarity on that? There are several individual volumes that are part of collections where the collection ahs been available for some time but the individual volumes only shipped in the past year. Does that make the collection ineligible or is it still eligible if at least one volume in it was available a year ago.

Seems complicated, and how will we know?

That's disappointing. It also looks, again, that there will be a heavy push towards Lexham works and mobile ed. Sorry to say but I have little interest in the former and none in the latter.

I buy them very very rarely, usually preferring to wait till something comes in a base package for bulk purchases.

I've joked before that keeping track of Logos sales is a part-time job, and March Madness exemplifies that. I'm not going to go the effort of finding collections I don't want to put on my wishlist; I don't think I voted any at all the last couple years. What am doing now though is kicking myself for not buying in years when they did single volumes and Gordon Fee came out near the top.

I smiled when I read ''part-time job.'' I vote on an ''as if'' basis; if I was rich enough. So, I'm a bit like monkey sticking its finger in the spokes. I used to buy some single volumes back when; some of these were at a great prices.

That was my reaction, too. Of course, it's their game so it's their rules. And I do get why they'd like to focus on higher-priced items in this "signature" sales event. But I do wish they'd include higher-cost individual volumes - perhaps individual resources over X dollars. I suspect they'd get more of my money that way.

Didn't we have the same kind of March Matchup some years ago? I vaguely remember collections from wish lists as basis for MM. I also remember that this resulted in mostly very strange collections competing in MM.
