v23 Copy/Paste BUG in Notes Tool

It is wonderful that some of the bugs in the Notes Tool were addressed in v23, but it appears that some new one(s) may have inadvertantly been added.

In the first example, when I copy and paste from one note to another, notice that the bullets are lost:

Note Bug 01

In the second example, the extra carriage return bug seems to have reappeared:

Note Bug 02

So I am not sure if these issues are related to the old bugs or if they are completely new ones.

I am on version 23.0.30

Also, related to the first example, if I copy and paste from notepad it does the same thing--only the first line is bulleted.

However, when I try to select lines 2-4 and click the bullet button, it does not work.  I have to click next to each one and hit enter, one by one.

This is DEFINITELY NEW!  I copy and paste notes like this all the time and did not have this issue before v23 update.

And, for what it's worth, none of the "Notes Bugs" are present it my old Logos 8/Windows 7 machine.  Everything works PERFECTLY with that one. Not sure what happened.  [:(]

Thanks for the report. I'll take a look at this today and report back.

I saw your other comment about a windows 7 machine. Is the screenshot you are using also from a windows machine or is this on mac?

I can only replicate if I am inserting the copied note inside of a pre-determined bullet point. I make a short recording for a more visual explanation. Is this a similar approach? I'm on mac using 23.0.30 (my windows is building/re-index at the moment)

Thank you so much for your quick reply and attention to these bugs! :)

Yes, I only have Windows and yes the problem only happens inside of a bullet point.

    However, I have found a couple more related issues . . .

Sometimes when I hit enter and the end of a bulleted line, I get an extra return. But I cannot yet predict exactly when it will happen.

So this one is not about copy and paste.  Here is an example of what before and after might look sometimes when I am typing and hit enter at the end of a bulleted line (line 2 in this hypothetical example):

    Note Bug 03

Also, sometimes bullets simply disappear.  This might only happen when syncing notes from one computer to another (that's how it happened to me anyway).  Here again is another hypothetical example of what happened (sorry I already fixed the actual problem).  And again, this is not copy and paste, but bullets just disappearing from the same note:

    Note Bug 04

I fix them by clicking next to each missing bullet and hitting enter.

This one has been hard to replicate, but good to know during more testing.

I got a few virtual machines and mine are fully coming through, but I'll keep poking around as your theory seems solid.

I'll write up a case regarding the issue below as it seems present in mac/windows after some testing.

Thanks again for the photos, it helped!

Here is a real example that is kind of a blend of the last two. These are my teaching notes on Isaiah.

The extra "returns" between the bullets were not there (or were note visible) before. But when I came back to this note they appeared.

Just a little update Willy, it passed our first round of testing. Basically we are preserving the bullet point and the text so anytime you copy/paste it should format correctly. Here's an example. We'll comment on this forum post once this goes live to our production application (desktop app)

Copy and Paste is daily a hit and miss for me. Sometimes it won't grab text and you have to keep on trying. When I copy from a commentary and paste into a Note, I have to reformat the font size. Especially text after a verse reference it always becomes smaller.

I thought this was random, but I've been able to duplicate it now.

    See this recording:

    http://recordit.co/psMOzA2Bk7

I copy and paste 4 lines from notepad. Bullets are dropped. We already know about that.

Next, I add the bullets back and everything looks ok, until I open and close the page again.

Now the extra returns appear.  So apparently they were there, but not visible at first.

Anyone should be able to duplicate this bug.
