"Installing Application Update..." but never completes

I have Logos for Mac 22.0.23, and for several days now, maybe more, on both my desktop Mac and notebook Mac, every time I start Logos, it starts downloading files, completes the download, then says "Installing Application Update..." but even if I leave it overnight it never completes installing. The fact that the same thing is happening on two different Macs makes me think it's not the Macs but something about the update, but I sure don't know.

On another discussion that sounded similar, someone suggested force quitting Logos, rebooting, starting it again, and that worked for the OP. I tried that, no difference.

I see that version 23 is now available, so clearly I'm behind. Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

    Hi Charles:

FYI, I have two identical iMac 24s (Ventura 13.2.1). One of those had the symptom you describe. On that one, I uninstalled and reinstalled Logos and it seems to be okay now. I am inexperienced with macOS; what I did was sent the App to the trash, restarted the Mac, downloaded the installer and re-ran that. That procedure didn't exactly act like a fresh install, as it didn't re-download resources or do an indexing. So my assumption is that it did a refresh of the executable(s) without the twin-agonies of downloading and indexing.

I tried what you said, IT WORKED!!!  23.0 worked when it installed, but it then immediately downloaded 23.1, and ... it INSTALLED it!

    Thanks!!!

Your assumption is correct Robert. One of the problems with those who are of the 'uninstall' bent is that they throw the baby our with the bath water. The engine (executable) can almost always be overwritten with a new install leaving library, index etc in place and unaffected. If an index fails that too can be dealt with as an individual item.
