"With an insatiable thirst for the truth, the Greek philosophical mind eventually came upon the very portals of the divine - only to ascertain that entrance into the bright illumination of the place of ultimate Truth was impossible for the natural human being.  There, before the inaccessible Divine, the philosophic mind found the good, the beautiful, the virtuous; it found the pur[pse and the good fortune of the rational human being...  The Greek spirit prepared humanity to accept the divine Revelation of Christianity, becoming a forerunner to Christ, from the Gentile world and signifying the desirable "fullness of time" for then, when "God sent forth his Son," when Christ came into the world and provided for all believers the high privilege of becoming 'children of God'."
