Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is inspired by the forum post: Logos 9 Bible Word Study Guide Lemma Section Shows Incorrect Principal Parts - Logos Forums

Regarding principal parts being unexpected, there is a question of what forms are actually attested:

The principal parts data is based on an analysis of the corpora that Logos has tagged as well as the entirety of Perseus data. In more cases than one would think, the proper form is not witnessed so IIRC we fell back to a 2nd or 3rd person form if it was extant.

In other places the Perseus data is simply ambiguous and may annotate an instance multiple ways; my guess is that this particular issue is evidence of that.

To check Perseus on the issue using the Context Menu:

Perseus browser page:

An example of other Perseus web pages:

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
