Recently, I found that some functions such as highlight, reading plan doesn't work. If I restart logos, the highlight will show up, but if I highlight another thing, I have to restart logos again to see it. Same as my reading plan. After I finish my daily reading. I don't see tomorrow's. only after I restart logos, I see tomorrow's reading plan. I have restart my computer several times. I am thing maybe I need to remove Logos app and reinstall it?

Anyone has the same issue?

Well, just helping out, sort of, but I have Ventura 13.4 and my highlight behavior is unchanged (a bit slow, etc). I don't use reading plans. Maybe someone else.

Granted, I work offline; you're online, I'm guessing.

So long as they have synced properly to Logos servers then, yes, the notes etc will all be there if you reinstall. But there is no guarantee that reinstaling will fix the problem.

I just want to check I understand what you are describing. I think you are saying that there are at least two things that don't work properly without a restart:

    1. Highlights aren't visible until after a restart
    2. Reading plan aren't updated until after a restart.

    Is that correct?

If so, to help try and work out what is going on please check something.

When you have applied a highlight - and it is not appearing in the book you highlighted - is the highlight present in the Notes Tool? My guess is that it will be and that, for some reason, it is not appearing in the book but I wanted to check

Thanks for your kind reply, Graham!

You are right, the highlight tools will appear if I use my cursor select certain words, but after I select a certain color format, nothing happens. However, once I restart Logos, the highlight will appear to be at the right place.

    Thanks Jiuhul

Are you able to check if the highlights appear in the Notes Tool before carrying out a restart.

Also, if you open the same book in another tab - again before a restart - do the highlights appear in that?

    Graham,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    1. The highlights do appear in the notes tools.

    2. the highlights do appear in another new tab without restart. very interesting!

The issue is one of when a highlights in the displayed text are refreshed (reloaded). There does seem to be a change in when the refresh is initiated but one the PC one can generally force it by moving away from the text and back (or the menu refresh option when it is available).

    Thanks,MJ!

Inspired by your reply, I tried and found this very interesting scenario: If I open a duplicate tab of the same book, I can highlight. in another words, the highlight acts as it should be at both copies.

However, if I close the one tab and only have a single copy, then the highlight doesn't appear at all.

I guess for now I have to open 2 tabs for any book.

    Don't give up Jiuhui!

I don't have your issues, but I do have issues with highlighting on the Mac/Verbum.  Three, to be exact.  And none are sufficiently repeatable to post a 'Bug' thread.  But each, requires a crazy workaround!

I'm sure they can figure out your issue.

Thanks for checking - very interesting

And someone else is reporting an issue that sounds related.

I've created a new post - cross-linked to this one at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/216393.aspx - asking someone from Faithlife to look into it.

Yes I've had this problem too.  I opened a case with Faithlife about a week ago.
