Hebrew Pronunciation Addin

I pre-ordered this product on 8/30/2007 thinking that it would be ready in months, not YEARS! I just looked again on my prepub page and it still says, Status: under development like it did over a year ago. Does anyone know when this product will be completed and shipping. I have recently been teaching in the OT and am seriously lusting after a help like this for us non-Hebrew trained Bible teachers. Oh Hebrew Pronunciator, Where Art Thou?

Yes, they'd better hurry up.  I understand that we will all need to speak Hebrew in Heaven though they might give a special dispensation for Aramaic or Greek.  [;)]

I think it was February of 2008 I ordered it? I would think the folk at Logos would give us some update or a better way of tracking the progress.  But I find no way to get any hint on how things are going.

It turns out to be more difficult than we intended. We want it to work with all our Hebrew databases, and they have (sometimes dramatically) different lemmatization systems. It's not as easy as just saying "pronounce the root word" -- you have to define what the root word is.

We're sorry that it's taken so long; this was just one of the issues we had to address. But we are working on it.

Bob thanks for the explanation. I too have ordered this addin and have been waiting for some time. Whenever I've called I get a friendly voice on the other side saying they don't have any information regarding publication. It's been frustrating, waiting and not knowing. I've been tempted to cancel my order.

Your explanation gave me a glimpse into the challenges you're having getting it ready. I think many of us would have appreciated a similar earlier update via email or some notice on the web site just to let us know where you are in development. It's not fun being left in the dark....

Bob, Thanks for taking the time to update us on the Hebrew pronounciation addin. It is good to know that at leaset the work is continuing. It is certainly something I am eagerly awaiting to use in my teaching.

So we who ordered early probably end up scoring some major discounts since the add-in is so much more difficult to make. THanks for the update, Bob.

How about audio bible for Hebrew?  Can we start a pre-pub program for that also? :)

    I too ordered in 2007. 2 years later I read this post. ...and now it's 2010 [:'(]

While I can appreciate the explanation of the difficulties in producing this work (which is greatly needed), how about giving us SOME idea of when this resource will be completed.

Is the Hebrew Pronunciation add in coming this year? Next Year? 2012?

How bout some semblance of a time estimate[:^)]

We at the forums have been misbehaved in the past and complained extremely loudly and vigorously when they don't meet their time estimates, so they've learned to not give estimates until they are extremely sure about them. We earned the lack of time estimates.

Well, it's that time again! I truly appreciate the difficulity that's apparently involved in completing this module but it's 2012 and many of us are still waiting and will probably continue to wait for it's delivery. However, it would be nice to have a "coming soon" or "here's where we are in development besides just 'under development' ". This gesture would be appreciated, I would imagine, expecially by those who have this module on order. "Is there any word from..."

I couldn't agree more - perhaps Bob would like to give us something to go on as the years are clocking by and nothing appears from our point of view to be happening.

I'm bumping this thread in the hopes that someone with a Logos aviatar will respond to recent requests. Your silence is deafening and frankly frustrating! I'm beginning to feel like we're being ignored.

I don't believe a brief update is unrealistic to expect given the time many of us have been waiting for this product. So please, will someone from Logos respond?

Well I origianlly ordered it when it posted, then dropped it until 2009. I would love to hear what progress has been made. I don't feel ignored, because this is definitely a long-term and highly complicated project to do correctly. Last thing I would want to see is a partial functionality or one that didn't hit the mark at all.

Although my patience sometimes wains, it isn't in this case. I would rather see them take the time to do it right and meet Bob's expectation for it, rather than not.

Besides, I can already hear all the complaints from Logos Users if it has issues or doesn't meet what their expectation was. This type of user detractions can be extremely frustrating in the software business and hurt the overall product.

With that said Bob, any update would be nice, but I for one appreciate you folks taking the time to analyze what needs to happen to handle the pronunciations in the best possible fashion.

i will add my name to the long list of people who would like to know WHEN or at least an estimate of WHEN this resource will be available, i see some have been waiting 5 years or more, seems like an update should not be asking too much

Bob did update us. It takes as long as it takes and I for one hope they do it correctly with a finished product. If I learned anything from the learning to use Greek and Hebrew disks is I do not like downloading big files over and over. We asked, Bob responded. Who cares if it was 3 years ago when he responded. I would love to see a product delivered that can correctly pronounce Hebrew at a seminary level. I start Hebrew on Tuesday and doubt this product will be finished by then so I guess I will need to pay attention. Quit complaining and wait until it is finished no matter how long it takes.

On 1 May 2012, Bob posted an update => Status: Hebrew Audio Pronunciations Pre-Pub

Christmas is coming; albeit not which year will have Hebrew Audio Pronunciations available for purchase.

    Keep Smiling [:)]

I can totally understand the frustration after 5 years, it be nice every now and then maybe something like estimated 50% done etc.

But at least this addin is in prepub so customers haven't been charged for it, unlike the sermon file-addin for L4

It's now 4 December 2013 and still no word or even an update on the Hebrew Pronunciation publication. Come on Logos - are we there yet? I'm tired of waiting!!!!!
