Adding your own foot notes to books

There are more than a few books/resources that, in my opinion, lack working footnotes. What I mean by that is this. Although a "good" book has a footnote it does not allow one to click and go to that book. That's frustrating because if you want to do further research/reading you can't click and go. 

There is a workaround to this. But, it involves copying part of a quote and searching your library for it.

Maybe you can't footnote a non-click-and-go footnote, and short of adding a Note to the quote I wonder if a "self-inserted" footnote beside the original one might be possible.

What I do is add a note anchored to the text int he document. That not can also have an anchor to the resource you are after or you can put a hyperlink in the note.

When you click on the note icon in the resource it will open the note with access to click through to the referenced resource plus whatever other notes you want to make
