Searching by Hymn Number

Hi all
We have been using Proclaim since the beginning but somehow I have never posted here. lol
Well, now there is reason to.
We just got new song books, and those came with digital XML files that I converted to text and uploaded to a new group (to differentiate it from our existing songs.) So far, all good. I got 655 songs to upload in a proper format.
I put in the hymn number in the Hymnal field in the text files so they all populated properly. However, I cant figure out a way to reliably search by hymn number.
We are a Bible Chapel so we have an open time where folks can call out a song number. One of our goals with importing these into Proclaim was to make it easy to quickly pull up the songs. But if I search for say "33", it will pull up 330,331 etc, 33 and sometimes some other random songs.
Is there a way to reliably search just by the hymn number?

Welcome to the forums! (finally haha)
You can search like this within Proclaim's song item and it should bring up only songs with that hymn number exactly:
hymnNumber:"33"
Note both the colon and the quotes around the number. That will find an exact match for that number. Without the quotes, searching 33 would still show results for the others as they contain it still.

Thanks Jordan. Appreciate the help. I can confirm this works sort of. the first result is always the right one and I will have to train the volunteers to ignore the rest.
a couple of suggestions or maybe things that already exist that I don’t know of.
1. Is there a way to have a particular group under which the songs are catalogued always show up first in search results?
2. In the preview in the search results, can we see the metadata including hymn number?
thanks!
