Bug or "Feature"? - triggering audio attached to content slides only by side list?

I was asked to set up a talent show set of slides with a few mp3 songs attached to a couple of slides for kids to dance to (very cute). I tested it with the iPad prior to the event and it worked as expected, but when we went live, it would continue to play previous songs, even after the slides were changed. I finally went upstairs to our computer and tried to run the program. Proclaim continued to play the wrong music when I clicked on the image of the slide, but when I clicked the item on the left side of the screen, the slides acted correctly and the music only played while the appropriate slide was selected. I did have "end of playlist (once through)" selected.

I don't use audio attached to content slides often - and I likely won't again. There is no control over the timings of the audio and it can't be paused. I'll just create a video file with a static screen I guess... a lot of work, actually.

Anyone else have this issue? Or am I misusing the content slide audio feature?

Attached files with soundtracks are problematical in Proclaim.

I have eschewed the 'Video' item in favour of using Content slides with a video background despite the fact that this, for some incomprehensible reason, removes the option to trim the video.

With sound files attached to content slides it is always safest to place a slide with an 'Audio Stop' setting between items. Even then one must be careful to make sure that one comes fully off air before restarting the presentation otherwise spurious music tends to keep playing even though a new slide is showing.

How and why is a bit of mystery to me but.

1. Adding Audio Stops between items (and usually after any item with a sound file attached)

2. Making sure that the program starts from scratch before presenting

Seems to keep me safe.

I haven't had too many issues with video files - other than with large files I need to play them just from the presentation laptop in the sanctuary. Playing long ones from the cloud has sometimes resulted in faulty playback or even no playback at all. Could be a WiFi issue on our end, but who knows.

Today I noticed that the two videos I had put up and trimmed precisely had slightly changed - the last line of each was cut off. A little frustrating.

I don't know what an "Audio Stop" is - I always put a static slide after each video file and content-with-audio slide. Is there a setting to use on the slide after an audio content slide that will make sure to stop the sound?

If you have it set to 'playlist once through' it will continue to play even after you have left the item. So that is why Mike needs to add stops. Instead you can change it 'end of service item' it will only play on that item, and you don't need to add the stops.

Hi Jordan. Just picking up on your thread because I'm having a problem with audio tracks. When I change the audio setting to "end of service item", when the audio track finishes it starts playing again. This catches the operator out every time.

I would like the track to play once per item unless we leave the item and come back to it. Do you know how to solve this problem? Cheers.
