legal system of Judea

What is a good source on the legal system of Judea in Jesus' time?

First disabuse yourself of the idea that there was a single legal system in Judea in Jesus' time. There were at least three - Jewish law, Roman law, and common (customary) law.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

If Logos has the resources, I'd be interested in all three.

I have the four volume set which is good. But the perspective is a 'lawyer' one. Not what Christian wants. Sanders looks good but I don't have it.

I do and would recommend it. It is a good antidote to Neusner whom I have qualms about.

Thanks. It looks like I already have the four-volume one on my wishlist. I'll look at the others too.
