Jewish Reactions to the Destruction of 2nd Temple

The second temple was the one which was rebuilt by Zerubbabel by 516 B.C. at the end of the 70 years of Babylonian captivity. What were the Jewish reactions to the Destruction of the Second Temple? I know that for Christians the memory of the Temple and its relevance to spirituality within one's life was retained among these believers in Jesus Christ. I know what the biblical text (Mark 13) says about it being destroyed. I also want to know if Jesus wanted the Temple destroyed. A scholar I read mentioned a lot of the prophesies in Revelation are believed to be in reference to AD 70 and conform to a new point of view called Partial Yet Uniform Preterism. Do modern scholars have any textual sources from early Christians from when this was happening? I have read some on this topic but the stuff is so vast in scope.

From your questions recently, you have your answer. Early Christian texts are limited and dating is often imprecise:
- The New Testament
- The Apostolic fathers and a few church fathers
- a bit of New Testament apocrypha
That's the available Christian texts regardless of the topic of interest - estimated to be 89-151 texts (see If you don't own a book and can't afford it, do this - Logos Forums or below for access to the resources you don't own)
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
