Positive thoughts on the v33 beta highlighting
To better understand the changes I see in version 33, I thought I might consider the worst-case scenario (or best-case scenario for some) where the entire screen might be filled with highlighting.
Highlights can be selected with a single tap. Selecting the next largest highlight makes that particular highlight the primary for editing. Highlight cards are still available in order to choose between the three highlights.
The long press of a single word to open the choice from highlight cards is still available as in v32.
For those of us who need to quickly get to the menu, the menu can be brought up by clicking the header, or the margin of the screen. Clicking on the header is still hit or miss but does not seem to be quite as bad as it has been in the past. Clicking on the margin though seems to work every time.
For me, this seems to work in a way that is beneficial to all types of users. My heartfelt thanks go out to Ali, Mark, Phil, Bradley, Joe, and all the Logos staff who labor so hard to make this software work the best for all of its users.

I am pleased too that you found a solution to everyone I guess, as I posted in another thread:
- single tap selects the highlight with options
- double tap selects entire verse with options
- long press selects single word with options.
