Visual Filter for Created Sermons
Hi. I really like the Sermon Editor. I am using it for almost every sermon and lesson I prepare now. However, there is one thing that I would love to see. It would be great if there was a Visual Filter that would appear in my Bible text that would let me see quickly that I have created a sermon document on a certain passage.
I used to create markers in the text by creating notes on passages that included the sermon title, the date preached, the venue, and the key points. I kept all of these notes in a note file called Sermons and Lessons. Since the Sermon Editor already has all of this data, it would be much easier to just add a marker in the text that would point back to the sermon file. Of course, anyone who did not want to see it could easily turn off the visual filter.

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but I would love to see some sort of sermon document symbol in my bible that indicates I have preached on a verse or passage. It should be driven by the Key Verse reference I enter in my sermon document. I would also like to be able to toggle it on or off as I can with notes in the visual filters menu.
As a side note, the sermon document symbol should be unique so as not to be confused with a note document.

Is it possible to see the sermons from Sermon Manager as visual filter connected to the Bible verses that is tagged in the sermon (in the same way as notes appear)? That would be very helpful when studying the Bible.

Thanks for your quick reply, Phil. Voting is now done, and I realise that as an European this will be the closest I will come a ballot in an US based election on this day:) Hope more of you guys will vote... for sermons as visual filter.

It would be neat to be able to toggle on/off (much like notes) an indicator (maybe a pulpit) to show that a particular text has been preached on as a main preaching text.

For the past few months, I've been really trying to love the Sermon Manager/Builder. I've played around with it, imported past sermons, created some bible lessons, watched Logos training videos, etc. For some reason, though, I've never been able to get past the "not ready for primetime" feeling that I get whenever I use it. Things about this tool/system just always seem slightly "off."
Case in point: (and I fully admit that this could be user error) There seems to be no way to insert a anchor/visual icon into bible/versified resources that would provide a preview/shortcut to sermon content. I have this capability with notes. But not with sermons. Why are sermons not included in the Visual Filters options?
If Logos is intent about making the Sermon Manager/Builder one of their LPro premiere tools (via AI features), then I hope the entire tool gets some major attention.

This isn't currently possible and I agree it would be very nice if it worked that way.
The best way I know of seeing whether you have a previous sermon on a passage is to put a Sermons guide into a linkset with your Bible. Then it will track with where you are in the Bible and any entries in the Sermon Documents sub-section will be ones you have created in Logos (or copied from some other group)

Thanks, Graham. As I'm currently used to the Notes tool, then I think I will continue to utilize that to store sermon text/anchors as it offers QUICK tagging/anchors and is fully integrated into the visual filters capabilities of Logos.
This is what I meant in my earlier post about the Sermon Manager seeming "not ready for primetime." It's design seems best suited for keeping track of topical sermons in a series, but it is rather clunky and overly complicated for managing sermons that are tied to one main scriptural text. Also, I find that slide shows take me longer to create in Sermon Builder than in PPT because the UI is so bad that editing anything is a true chore.
