Unsupported Mac OS

Recently two of my three macbooks stopped opening Logos. Come to find out they had just released a new version of Logos that request Mac OS 12 or above. My two not working are below 12 and are too old and the Mac OS cannot be updated.

I thought that I would have to replace these two computers. But, then I received an email from Logos stating that the update would happen (it already did actually), but if my Mac OS was too old the updates would not happen and I could keep using the older version of Logos.

But, I can't seem to get back to the Old version of Logos that will run on Mac OS below 12.

Is there a process to do this? I can't figure it out.

I didn't think Logos was supposed to self-destroy itself. That would be a major issue, even if accidental by Logos.

Logos will have to chime in. This should NOT have happened... but I have heard of it happening before. I would say that this is a bug.

<If> we are able to get you back up and running, you should change the update channel on those computers to a non-standard one so that auto updates don't happen again. If any updates <do> come along for those computers, you should manually download an install them.

What version of Logos do you have? You can find this by right clicking on the app and selecting "Get Info".

The two computers in question are not on MacOS 11, but MacOS 10. Will that make a difference?

They are 2014 or 2015 models. I can't remember exactly. I will have to look again to make sure. They were purchased used. They still work quite well, but I was not aware of the unsupported nature of them, which I'm sure is why they were so inexpensive. When I begin replacing them I will make sure I get 2018 or above.

So, from the link, it looks like MacOS 10 will not work with Logos 10. Actually, this was what I was using on both computers (Logos 10) until the other day when the program simply would not launch. I talked to tech support on the phone and they said we would have to upgrade to MacOS 12 to get Logos to work. I tried, but an update is not available for such an old computer. Just misses the cutoff.

Just wondering if I can install an older version of Logos (like 8 or 9) or if I'm stuck using Logos online until I replace these machines?

Update:

I was incorrect.

Both are Early 2014 Macbook Air. It has MacOS Big Sur 11.7.10.

So, I'm not certain I know what happened here. I was pretty sure these two machines were running MacOS 10. When I went to update the OS there was no updates available. Maybe one became available and updated automatically?

As instructed by Thomas in an offline email, I removed the existing installation, reinstalled from Logos, and it started right up without issue. The same with the other machine as well. Thanks so much for everyone's advice and comments. The online version is so limited that it was difficult to use when familiar with the desktop version on my main laptop.
