    Where is the problem?

The mobile app is prone to corruption. Feel free to download all your resources, but don't say you weren't warned.

Well, as near as I can tell, that has not happened on my iPad with thousands of resources downloaded to it for the past 5 months.

But suppose it does, what is so tragic about that?  Just download it again.

What if you lose your notes/highlights because of a mismatch between resource files?

What if you have troubles redownloading the resources?

What if iPadOS doesn't release the memory and you run out of space?

All of these issues have happened.

As long as you sync, the note/etc should be fine. Always be in the habit of hitting if before you close Logos

Troubles redownloading doesn’t make much sense. IF it was corrupted .  Logos app would have to be dowloaded again. Hence downloading your library again.  If there IS still an issue. That’s on Logos, not Apple.

I have had Apple for 10+ years. MacBook, IPad, IPhone, etc.  I have NEVER seen Apple IOS hold up memory. But for argument sake. Let’s say it does happen.  You have the Cloud backup.  You reset, sync with the cloud.  You are done.

All this is WAY simpler than Windows.

The issue I mentioned is a mismatch between resource files on desktop, in cloud, on iPad. The mobile app does not do well at updating the resource files. The more resources you have downloaded, the more potential mismatches. Users have lost highlights due to this issue.

I'm not assigning blame. That is not my point. But some users HAVE had problems redownloading resources after a reinstall.

I have and in two ways: 1) downloaded resources once "deleted" still take up space on device [This has happened to me on more than one streaming app and on the Home Depot app] and 2) a deleted app still taking up space. The latter has happened to me on more than one occasion with the Logos mobile app. I am not assigning blame, but if I were, my guess is that it is an Apple issue. Nevertheless, it is problematic. The only relief is to wipe the device completely and start over. [This issue is why I stopped beta testing the mobile app].

My only goal here is to give a warning, which I have done. Since much of the app requires internet anyway, I don't see much point in downloading your entire library. For me, the primary reason to do so would be to perform a "library search," but that requires Internet on mobile!

I have used Ipad from the first generation to the last one I have now, none of the above lists have occurred on any of my Ipads.

I think it can be said that the benefits of using Logos on an iPad  far outweigh the risks. There are risks inherent in using computers and it is good to know it. Logos warn people that there are risks in beta testing their software on any device.  There are risks in using any machine, from scissors to aeroplanes, to Boeing space rockets.  Hopefully my iPad will never get me stuck on a space station.

Were these problems reported to Logos and/or Apple? What was the outcome of those reports?

Quite a long time ago after seeing your warnings, I searched here on the Logos forum. I did find people having issues with the mobile app, but it appeared to me at the time that the problems were Android related, particularly Android devices that had microSD card storage used as extended memory.

    hi,

Can I confirm that you can edit sermons on an iPad mini even though you can't on a phone?

    hi,

Can I confirm that you can edit sermons on an iPad mini even though you can't on a phone?

Absolutely! I'm using Logos Max with FFS, and can confirm that sermons are editable on an iPad Mini.

    1. Open up the "hamburger menu" and scroll down to documents.
    2. Select the sermon you wish to edit from "Sermons"; or, click the "+" sign on the top right corner to create a new sermon.
    3. On the top left of the sermon editor window, you have multiple tabs, including Edit, Text, and Slides. Make sure Edit is selected, and you should be good to go.

When you're done, you can close it, or start preaching by tapping the Preach button on the top right.
