edited November 20 in Resources Forum

If you’ve been with us a while, you may be accustomed to Verbum launches happening on the same day as Logos launches.

But this year, launch is happening a little differently. We’ve modified our traditional launch schedule since we are rolling out such large-scale changes across our business.

Our main Logos launch will happen on October 21, 2024. We recommend you sign up for our live event to learn all about what’s new.

However, the new Verbum offerings will launch a few weeks later on November 11, 2024.

We appreciate your patience (it is a virtue, after all!), and we’re confident you’ll love what’s coming.

It will be easier to budget waiting until November, but I am curious about why it is a different date.

The move to subscription is more complex than our previous release cycles have been. There are more moving parts, and more demands on the various teams. Staggering the release was necessary for the benefit of those teams.

Verbum and select Logos Language lines share in the November 11th launch.

Will there be unique features/perks for Verbum vs. Logos, and if so, will users be able to cost effectively combine a Logos and Verbum subscription so that we have all the features available across both?

No - Logos has not heard the pleas for this and seem unwilling to reconsider despite the negative impact on the major ecumenical seminaries like GTU Berkeley.

I don't know but at a minimum, the current differences are continuing. I don't understand why they give themselves the additional cost rather than making it simply a matter of skin and resources to keep the extremist in each camp happy. Remember the old joke of touring heaven and in one section having to be silent because that group thought they were the only ones there? That's how I wish Logos the company thought of the Logos/Verbum -- silence being sufficient to divide the products.

    Hi

I have Logos 10 and Verbum with all upgrade features

    Verbum 10 Academic Professional

    Logos 10 Disciple Premium

    Logos 10 Counseling Premium

I don't quite understand the subscription but I have early Pro for logos 10

What happens now for the Verbum ? Features do I have to have another subscription

    Hi

I have Logos 10 and Verbum with all upgrade features

    Verbum 10 Academic Professional

Academic Professional comes with the Verbum 10 Full Feature set, so you'll get the best price for the Verbum subscriptions when they are released in November. You will have to subscribe to get the new features they've developed, as they are now part of a subscription model.

Or you can just keep what you have. You won't lose what you already own. You will continue to receive bug fixes for free.

When will we learn more about the Verbum offerings?

If what you are saying is to go to one engine that is identical for both products, then I agree. The differences currently as explained in another post are really minimal.

And here, I thought I was being stupid to buy both FF's.  I wonder what will happen to multi-lingual Logosians.

Only one tradition allowed, only one language allowed I guess.

I love it - this means I can limit my Bible to Aramaic ... I might even be able to memorize the whole Bible!! (Hey, memorization is not my forte.)

  • Thank you for the valuable info.

I would love to know if Verbum subscribers will be able to purchase Logos Libraries, and vice-versa... I have done so since the academic packages first came. And Logos Researcher is looking really good. [:D]

Yes, no problem with that - it works as it always has.

If I buy a Logos library with the extra discount for a first 2025 library, will I be able to get a discount for the first Verbum library as well?

Also, I have been on the early access subscription for Logos; if I find I cannot afford two subscriptions and so switch to Verbum subscription, will the legacy start date be when I switch or when Logos launched?

Like many here, I have both Logos and Verbum. Paying a full subscription for both would probably be less economical than it was to get the full features of both (which, IIRC, only became different a couple of editions ago, but I could be wrong about that).

Can we get a Verbum Live Launch Event? Something like...

"Here we are at the apostolic see, our guest today is the Pope. His holiness will cut the ribbon and we will then go into our Verbum changes!"

Will there be a separate launch event for Verbum that we can register for?

EDIT: Oops, just saw that someone else asked about a launch event. Although I didn't see a real answer...

    Hi All,

We wanted to share an important update regarding the launch of our new subscription for Verbum. Originally, we had planned to go live on November 11th, but recognizing that this day is a national holiday in the U.S., we’ve decided to move the launch by one day. This means the new release date will be November 12th.

    Nooooooooo....[:D]

I am very much looking forward to it.  Sure would be nice if you would start dropping some hints and clues of what we can expect.  [;)]

    Peace and all good.

The changes are outstanding and exciting. I use Verbum but have signed up already with a Logos Pro annual subscription. Will I be able to set up an "official" Verbum subscription? Thanks for all your good work!

We were assured we could transfer from Logos to Verbum but as of now we can't have both sets of features i.e. one and only one subscription.

I'm looking forward to lots of fake-subscription sign-ups ... Verbum and Logos too!

Given that it is a holiday, was looking forward to have a day of leisure to test drive it.

The quote above was before they changed the launch to the 12th.  So, your leisure day may anticipate the excitement.

You will be able to switch to Verbum but not to have both as many of us are used to.

Why is this? As long as I can have all the Verbum features in my Logos I really don't care but it makes no sense to not be able to have both if you want to.

I wonder why there is no information on the Verbum homepage about the new launch?

    Hi All,

I didn't know about this new subscription model development with Logos/Verbum. I was planning to buy a Verbum 10 Platinum and just few minutes before my purchase I was told that a new subscription model will be launched. So, I postponed my purchase. Did I make a mistake? Should I have bought the  Verbum 10 platinum, before the scubscription model kicks in?
