I just recently got a new mouse that has 12 additional programmable buttons (Aatrox wireless mouse, but search for any programmable mouse on Amazon for options).

With these new buttons I can create macros with the included mouse software. Using these in addition to Logos shortcuts and favorites I was able to simplify some steps with the press of a button

Hyperlinking Made Easy

This was the original purpose I got this mouse. the original steps are:

  1. Select text or location to be linked to
  2. CTRL+ALT+C to copy location link
  3. Highlight text in notes that will be the hyperlink
  4. CTRL+K to open hyperlink box
  5. CTRL+V to paste link
  6. ENTER to finish to process

Now with a programmable mouse I've assigned one button to operate as CTRL+ALT+C and another button to do steps 4-6 all at once. Now the steps are:

  1. Select text or location to be linked to
  2. Mouse button 1
  3. Highlight text in notes that will be the hyperlink
  4. Mouse button 2

Open Top Commentary Series to Your Active Reference

By using the Quick Links via the Favorites\Application\Quick Links folder I can open my top commentary for any book at the click of a button.

To work you need to set your top bible (or any bible I suppose) to the first Quick Links shortcut, and any commentary from your favorite series to the second Quick Links shortcut.

I've programmed one button to:

  1. CTRL+1 - which will open my bible if not already, or activates your bible panel if it is
  2. CTRL+G - selects the passage box
  3. CTRL+C - copies the bible reference
  4. CTRL+2 - which will open up a commentary in my 'Top Commentary' series
  5. CTRL+G - selects the passage box in the commentary
  6. CTRL+V - pastes the passage copied from my bible
  7. ENTER - sends the commentary to that passage

Miss the TAB key function that used to activate the scripture box? Program a button to activate your bible via Quick Links and then activate the passage box (CTRL+1 and then CTRL+G in my case).

I have a few others but by combining built in shortcuts, user defined shortcuts via Favorites, and a programmable mouse you can streamline certain processes that you find interrupting your workflow.

If anything above made no sense I'm happy to explain more.
