subscription

I got the Max Subscription when it rolled out, but I don't see why. Nothing has changed. If I stop my subscription, what do I lose? What is the point of the subscription? I thought that we would get access to faithlife TV through it, but it seems that is not true. I had that subscription also, but received an email to say that they will merge, and become one subscription, but now I have to buy things I want to watch. What's the point of the subscription? what's the benefit in having the Max subscription?

Hi DM Solomon, welcome to the user forums!

If I stop my subscription, what do I lose?

You'd lose access to the resources that came with the subscription (filter your library for license:temp to see them).

Regarding functionality, that depends entirely on what features you own from purchased base packages and feature sets in the past, because you retain these.

    • E.g. if you're owner of the Logos 10 Full Feature Set, Logos would keep most features, even including the translation tool. You would lose new features since Logos 10, most prominently the new resource toolbar, but also smart search, search results synopsis and the summary feature. There's a list of new featues since Logos 10 somewhere in the forums.
    • If, on the other hand, you do not own any features and are new to Logos (or used to be a "subscriber not owner" before, e.g. through Faithlife Connect), then you'll fall back to the free engine and potentially miss much of the functionality altogether. You probably lose the reverse interlinears to your bibles and the deeper bible study tools.

Have joy in the Lord! Smile

Were you a part of the Early Access program for the subscriptions?

I agree the changes with the rollout are underwhelming.

I was an early loud voice against the subscription, but chose to get it after doing a cost analysis comparing previous version upgrade costs I'd spent.

I'm going to be patient with them; they likely spent a majority of their resources and time getting the scrip rolled out. I have two years on my scrip to determine if I'll stay with it or not.

With apologies to Dr. Rumack, surely by then we'll see if the programmers can cash the checks written by the marketers.

Well, always remember Mark's big argument ... you're getting Logos '11' features PLUS those unknown '12' features (having trouble remembering what they were/are, no offense to Mark).  And you'll need to buy some books too (for the discounts saving ... Blondie never had it so good, vs Dagwood).

This is one of the key points that I think some miss the view of some users/customers....

The discount and cash back is a nice perk for new customers and for those still interested in building their libraries - however, for those of us who have pretty much built our libraries to what we want, it's not so much a beneficial perk.....

yes I was. I am cancelling! It's too expensive. My kids watched Logos TV now some of the shows is locked. Although the email I received said that the subscriptions will merge and I don't need to do anything. Well, now I have to pay more. This sucks.
