Currently, we can choose between some default options, within those, let us alter the layout of the slide.

This would allow creating lower thirds layouts for a stream or alternate layouts for additional screens.

  • This is a critical feature for us. If this feature doesn't get added to proclaim soon we will be leaving for another software package.

Yes! I want to use the full features of Proclaim for both the full layout and the lower thirds / transparency layout for video. For example, I want to use smart media for both layouts.

My current workaround is to use the confidence monitor output for the main presentation and the normal output for the transparency slide.
  • Agreed - much like number 2 on this link - https://renewedvision.com/blog/4-creative-ways-to-use-propresenter-when-live-streaming/

With this it is critical that you can apply defaults for these virtual screens. As it stands now you can create a virtual screen and assign that screen to an output (physical or NDI), but then you have to manually tell each slide item what kind of output you want (e.g. - Background only, foreground only, duplicate, blank, etc) for that virtual screen. By default it uses "blank" so if you add a song last minute and forget to change the content type for that song you won't display anything.

The built-in "Confidence" virtual screen doesn't work like that at all -- it has defaults. So, if you add a new song last minute you don't have to worry whether it'll display on your confidence monitor as expected or not because all "song" types are governed by a template that you set once. You don't have to go into every song, click on the "confidence" tab, and tell it how to display like you do with other non-built-in style virtual screens.

If I am able to create a "lower thirds" virtual screen, assign it a template that puts content at the bottom, assign that to a physical display that is great. But, if I have to go into every single song and make sure on the "lower thirds" tab that I using "foreground only" that a huge pain and something that will definitely be accidentally missed at some point.

Customization of alt-content has shipped with version 3.1! Defaults for the virtual outputs (Like Jeremy Johnson's request) is in testing and will be coming along shortly (Hopefully next week)
  • Seems to be a bug in the implementation. If you have a smart media template applied to your main output it seems to spill over into the alt display.

    See results.

  • @jordan-sjodin-99 I see this was posted 3 months ago. Is this still in testing? This has been a critical issue for us and has caused a number of issues on multiple Sundays.
