Enhance the Add Link function in the Notes Tool to allow other targets

Suggestion
Allow link targets in the Notes Tool to be a file in the local file system (e.g. C:\path\file.pdf), an email in a mail program (e.g. mid://email-id-string), or anything else you can link to via the operating system.

Background
The Add Link function (the link icon button in the Note tool bar) seems to only allow internal links to Logos resources and external links to web sites (i.e. http:// and https://). (There does not seem to be any documentation in the Help about what targets are available.)

There are times when I want to reference a document on my hard drive using the windows file path.

Other times I want to reference an email in my mail program.

In both cases, I do not want to copy all or any of the original document, I just want to pull up the original.

Please expand the available target types in the Notes Link function.

I want to add the content of a PDF to a Note, or to include a link to an external PDF file. I have a PDF that includes a chart that I wish to include in a Note.

As a work-around, I converted the PDF to a JPEG which I was able to Copy and Paste into the Note.

    Additional use cases:
I also use Zotero (reference manager software) and am starting to use Obsidian (notes and knowledge management).  Both have URL protocols to allow external programs to access items in their databases, Zotero:// and Obsidian://  respectively.

Both of these protocols are registered with and are handled by the operating system (OS) to open in the respective programs, so no extra programming needs to happen -- just like with the http:// protocol, all Logos needs to do is hand those off to the OS, and the link completes.

(And, by the way, both of these programs will correctly handle links that use the logos4:NotesTool or logosres: protocol labels among most (all?) others.)

Why doesn't Logos have a way to link from Notes or Personal books, to a local resource (image- or video-, or sound- file)? Logos can link to resources on the internet very easily but is not able to use what I have at hand on my local PC.
I ran into this problem many times. I have on my PC a lot of resources that are unreachable from within Logos. I don't want these pulled in to Logos I just want to be able to view or play these resources. Local link-ability would be more than welcome.
