Add "override default templates" for all alternate content virtual screens

When you create a virtual screen it creates a tab for every slide item with that name. You then specify how you want each slide item to display for that alternate content (e.g. - background only, foreground only, duplicate, blank, etc). By default it uses "blank" so when you add a new item to your presentation it will always show that item as "blank" on your virtual screen unless you manually change it.
The built-in "Confidence" virtual screen doesn't work like that at all -- it has defaults. So, if you add a new song last minute you don't have to worry whether it'll display on your confidence monitor as expected or not because all "song" types are governed by a template that you set once. You don't have to go into every song, click on the "confidence" tab, and tell it how to display like you do with other non-built-in style virtual screens.
What would be much better is if alternate content could have defaults based on the slide type and then you could "override default template" if you want it to display different for a particular slide item.

I definitely agree. I love the new capabilities in Proclaim 3.1 being able to modify the size of text boxes, etc on the alternate slides, but it would be great if we could assign a "Default" similar to how we can assign a default format for the confidence output. Thanks for considering0

Yes exactly, we use the same template for all Song items on our alt content display - so would be great if we could set this as the default.0

You can now set defaults per Screen and Item type in the Default Media settings pane. Additionally, we now default the content type to 'Duplicate' for each item. Now when you add a new song for instance, your alt-content will be ready to go out of the box!0

@jordan-sjodin-99 I know this has been marked "done," but the main issue here is still problematic and has yet to be resolved. The virtual screens seemed to have been set up for things like live-streaming, therefore we utilize the "alternate content" display for completely different settings for lower thirds. That being said, what once worked great for us has now become very burdensome with the "updates." The only thing the Default Media settings pane allows you to do is set the background default. Like Jeremy said, when we add an item, we need to change the display settings, not just the background. We simply need "foreground only" on all of our service items because that allows lyrics and verses to be displayed as lower thirds. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make that an option to select in the Default Media settings pane.0
