Pre-show startup scripts for system automation

I looking for functionality to run a set of commands (midi or web API requests) before the pre-service loop as a system startup sequence. This would be used to put system components into a start state. For instance midi commands to put a light board on the first cue, the ability to run a shell script locally to start other applications, and the ability to utilize the API of other systems through REST calls.
This facilitates Proclaim being the hub of all of the components and reduces the manual labor of getting ready to go on a Sunday morning by less skilled volunteers.
