Split-pane for Notes

When typing notes on a tablet (I use android), it would be nice if when you create a new note, it automatically opens the note in split-pane as opposed to creating a new window.
Often times I want to refer to what I'm highlighting, but the only way to see the original text is to exit out of the note, because there is no way to access the toolbars. You can't even use the two-finger swipe to switch back and forth to view the original text. I guess it expects that I memorize whatever I just read before typing a note!
Since I have a bad memory, what I have to do instead is exit, then re-edit the empty note I just created, and from there, I can create a split pane view because now the bottom toolbar is visible for some reason. However, I have to re-open the resource I was adding a note to. This is too many steps.
It would be much better if would just open the note in a split pane to begin with when the screen size is sufficient large, maybe with an option to go full screen if I so choose.
Or alternatively, at least add more context to the note page by allowing us to inline expand the anchor link with the highlighted text when creating the note.
