Theme/Template Group in Left Column

It would be AMAZINGLY HELPFUL if there was a template group in the left column similar to the Pre-Service Loop or Warm-Up groups.

Right now (thanks to the new hide feature), we're making a subgroup in Service called "Template" and hiding all the slides. This is convoluted.

If there was a template group, everything in it would never show up on air (could show up in preview). Plus it could be attached above Pre-Service in a separate box so that when you scroll down in the rest of the service, it doesn't disappear. If you collapse it, you have more screen room, (maybe appears auto-collapsed with list of how many items are in it), and if you expand it, you can adjust how much space it takes up, dragging up and down between it and the main service sets. Maybe default at like 5 items visible. Oh, and when you right click and select "Duplicate to Service", it duplicates to whatever location in service you last had selected.

Anyway, this would be a game changer. It would make templating so much easier. In PP, you set a theme and then each time you create a slide, it automatically uses that theme. I get that Proclaim isn't like that, but it also has no comparable feature for doing Templates. There's something in Settings, but that's no good because we change our designs every few weeks, it's difficult to access there, and there's very limited options - not the ability to make a whole theme set.

One way or another, a theme/template solution needs to be created!

  • you can.  I made a "template" presentation called Sermon Template.

When I start a new presentation, I go to reuse, and insert Sermon Template.

It remembers my fonts, by alignment, my text box size and my background image.

I made a Christmas Sermon Template also.  Same deal.

@Pat Marinich  Yeah but that's still a work around. It's not really a built-in template. I can't right-click on a slide and say "apply template". I can't change the template and apply it to all the slides. These type of things are basic in PowerPoint and other presentation software.

Right now what you can actually do, though it feels buried, is right-click on each item type of your template and set them as the "default content", but you can only have 1 default per content type, which is problematic because we often have a header "content item" or two, plus a regular "content item". What's worse, though, is that's the default for all of Proclaim, not for that particular service, so if I want to work on services with different themes, that doesn't work because I suddenly erased that theme setting up this one. And it uploads the items into Smart Media, but during the upload you can't specify what board it goes to, so then you have manually add them all to the same board.

In other words, Proclaim has no built-in template control that can be:
    - Set and applied to new content on a per-service basis

    - Set with multiple options for each item type , particularly the "content" type (but all types , like how a service theme in Smart Media regularly has multiple options per item type)
    - Edited in such a way that it updates all content in the service using that theme (and if changed in one service, when going to another service using the same theme, some ability to either be notified of the change or otherwise easily update that service too with a simple click)
    - Easily saved to a theme group (board) in Smart Media
