The menu is a little overwhelming. Here are some thoughts:
There are too many visual items in the menu and they are not grouped. Mnemonic theory tells us that 7 items are about the maximum span somebody can instantly handle. IF you want to keep all 9 items in the menu, I'd recommend to somehow group them into two or three groups and separate them by a vertical line |
The lower Verbum/Logos icon seems to be redundant: there is already a logo icon right above the menu and the lower icon isn't functional (if you click it takes you nowhere).
Removing the lower logo icon will 1) give more space and 2) feel less overwhelming
If you want to keep the lower Verbum / Logos icon, then make it the home icon.
Here's a suggestion for a much less overwhelming menu:

You may also consider swapping the Search icon and the Bible icon as more appropriate grouping.
