IPadOS Safari notes not working

Safari iPadOS notes worked great until last week. Now Im getting the message “save notes locally”. I tried this in various browser (yeah, they’re all Apple WebKit but sometimes that works) but not in this case.
The iPadOS Logos Mobile app is great but the Notes facility in that app is terrible. The Web Notes was my work around. Please fix.
