[y] Having first begun to investigate catechisms this year, this would be a great addition to Logos!

I'd love to see a massive interconnectivity chart to where each one addresses specific points of doctrine, and where there are agreements/dissagreements.

Aside from some expected departures I would anticipate seeing a large agreement section on many many questions. (deity of Christ, etc)

Pelikan did some work on this for creeds. I've tried but it is very slow going because Churches use the same words but do not mean the same thing by the word.

The Companion to the Catechism of the Catholic Church: A Compendium of Texts Referred to in the Catechism of the Catholic Church Including an Addendum

The Catechism of the Catholic Church reads "often the texts of Sacred Scripture are not quoted literally but merely indicated as a reference ('Cf.') in the footnotes. For a deeper understanding of those passages, the reader should go to the texts themselves. These Biblical references are a working tool for catechesis."

This Companion to the Catechism of the Catholic Church Book of References contains all the passages of Sacred Scripture referred to in the Catechism arranged according to the paragraphs in which the references are made.

But that is only a beginning. The Catechism also refers to conciliar texts, papal documents, writings of the Fathers and of the Saints. There are more than 3,600 of these references extending from the earliest credal formulations of the ancient Church to the documents of Vatican II and beyond to the magisterial teaching of Pope John Paul II. The Book of References includes all the texts referred to arranged, along with the Scripture passages, according to the paragraphs of the Catechism in which they are referred.

catechesis (n.)

"oral instruction, catechism," 1753, from Latinized form of Greek katekhesis "instruction by word of mouth," from katekhein "to instruct orally," originally "to resound" (with sense evolution via "to sound (something) in someone's ear" to "to teach by word of mouth"). From kata "down" (in this case, "thoroughly") + ekhein "to sound, ring," from ekhe "sound," from PIE *(s)wagh- "to resound" (see echo (n.)).

It is a term that has been used by many denominations to describe materials for teachers.

Well, as long as you're mentioning the Waldensian Catechism … there's a German version of it already on Logos but as far as I know it's not available on Logos in English. I'm working on republishing the historic Waldensian confessions of faith, including this Catechism. Its production date is unknown, but we know it predates Jan Hus (the Hussite Catechism is based on the Waldensian Catechism) and was probably in use by the 1300s, perhaps earlier.
