Small highlighting bug

Hello there,
My OCD brings this issue to your attention:
When highlighting multiple verses in my Bible, the lines extend under the verse numbers for the second and proceeding verses, but not on the first verse. It just leaves the look of it pretty sloppy, and it seems like a simple line of code.
