For example, using the "box" highlight style. Have an option (maybe such as holding in a "shift key" while selecting the highlight style.) Be able to place the "box" around the entire selection rather than each separate line, thus creating a "border" box for that entire selected area. This way you can define the whole selection of text. It would be good to also still maintain other highlights such as underlines and colored highlights within the bordered area.
