Filter subject duplicates in Library

The Subject Filter in the Library show duplicates. For example there are 4 "Bible" and 4 "Bible." and all are listed separately in the the 1's near the end of the list. I suspect that this is due to secondary subject entries for subjects, a feature that I didn't know existed until I fell into it. I did not see this problem in the iPad app version but it is clear in the desktop version. Of course the "." is extraneous and should be removed but then there would still be 8 entries putting it in the wrong place. The secondary entries are interesting but unknown to me. I suspect I know how they work but it is speculation. There may be other entries beside Bible that have this problem.
