Create Device Independent of Existing OS and Software Licensing

My chief concern going forward is that more companies are seeming to feel at liberty to paywall features or move away from legacy licensing of software to subscription based models. What's more and maybe more critical is that companies seem to be breaking business' relationships with those companies that may take different positions than them. These considerations raise the possibility of either development tools or even Logos itself (or its contents within), being deemed too much of a business model liability to companies that would license tools or host Logos products. I believe we already see some of these effects in cutting of features such as the Android app no longer permitting purchases (I understand that this is due to fees).

As a result of these concerns, would it make sense to research device manufacturers and invest further in OS and software engineers to create a Kindle or Nook like device, exclusively for Logos Software (preferably with the option to consumer to have it be updateable over wifi or usb data cable [in the event of operating in persecuted areas where any chance of being discovered should be mitigated]).

I like the idea of having digital formats of bibles and biblical resources be firmly in the hands of fellow believers, from the device to the software so that we may avoid the risk of 3rd parties revoking access to critical infrastructure to make this system, and ones like it, work.
