Notebook Symbol

I like to assign a specific symbol to each one of my notebooks. It would be very helpful if I could have that symbol displayed within the notebook view list. It would also be an additional great feature if I could have any note added to a particular notebook, automatically take on that notebooks assigned symbol and color.
