Problems on Kindle fire and android phone

Recently, I've been having problems with the Logos Bible app on my Kindle Fire and android phone. It seems to work fine until the moment I temporarily leave the app to go to another app (without closing logos). The moment I return to logos, the menu button (four bars on top left) doesn't work, and then most other functions stop working until I shut down the app and restart it. I'm guessing there's a problem with the latest app update.
