if you import a sermon or lesson (e.g. from a Word doc) with scripture references typed into the document, then you cannot easily make scripture slides from the scripture references. This perhaps could be improved. Here is the support thread from my conversation today...

here is the part that is not working for me the way it is described in the help guide
"Add biblical passages to your sermon by typing out the reference and pressing the Enter key. Logos will add the passage in your preferred Bible translation and create a slide with the passage preloaded on it. You can also add the reference in-line without a slide by pressing the Tab key after your reference."

when you type the scripture reference, say John 3:16, do you see anything on the screen that offers more info like hitting enter or tab for that?

Enter will add the scripture to a slide, where using Tab will add the reference in-line without a slide. If you want the scripture reference on the slide, I suggest using the Enter key.
ok yes... I suppose my problem was...

or try them both to see how the differences may work for you

that i copy and pasted from a document into the sermon builder and tried to quickly make scripture slides from all my text from the word doc
So do i have to actually type the reference for those features to work?
Yes, when copying and pasting text those controls may not come up for you to utilize as it is taking the full text into consideration as it pastes.

not just the scriptures

less than ideal. I understnad what you are saying
You could copy and paste the text up to the reference.
Then manually type it to have the controls

then continue copying and pasting the text
Carla S
i cant even highlight the text of the reference and then ask it to create the scripture slide

I would need to try and replicate that to see how best to help you if doing as I had suggested did not work for you. One moment.

well my struggle is that i'm trying to use logos to creates slides for a class where the work was done in a word doc to create a bunch of proof texts, so there's a significant list of references... I'll copy into here what I mean..
Biblically, while it is true that there is only one God (Isa. 44:6; 45:18; 46:9; John 5:44; 1 Cor. 8:4; James 2:19), it is also true that three persons are called God in Scripture:
• the Father (1 Pet. 1:2),
• Jesus (John 20:28; Heb. 1:8), and
• the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4).
Each of these three possesses the attributes of deity—including
• omnipresence (Ps. 139:7; Jer. 23:23-24; Matt. 28:20),
• omniscience (Ps. 147:5; John 16:30; 1 Cor. 2:10-11),
• omnipotence (Jer. 32:17; John 2:1-11; Rom. 15:19), and
• eternality (Ps. 90:2; Heb. 9:14; Rev. 22:13).

I am seeing as I suspected. The passage references are highlighted to link to your bible but the offer to add the full text of the passage is not present as it is in the middle of the text that was pasted. I am still looking into the options for you.
