Highlight column in text comparison tool

It should be possible to toggle a highlight for any column in the text comparison tool, so that that column stands out from the others. For example, I have mine set up with the ESV in the middle and various other versions on the right and left (sliding scale from more literal to more dynamic, with ESV in the middle). I want to be able to highlight the column that contains the ESV.
