Text to speech loses place in book on Android

I really enjoy the new text to speech feature. Unfortunately, the app seems to lose my place in a given book on a fairly consistent basis. For example, I will listen for 10 minutes or so on my drive to work, and then again at lunch time. When I go back to the app after work, it will start reading from an earlier point -- possibly where it started that morning or even the day before. It's pretty annoying trying to find my spot again.
