This is currently not an option, but I can see the usefulness of having a "read" or "unread" filter. These forums are improving daily thanks to the hard work of Jason & team.

Community members cannot filter out content to only new comments, but the Recent Posts section (in the side bar of most every page of the community) puts all of the new posts and new comments at the top of the list. That may be what you're looking for.

It would be extremely useful to me to be able to filter out (actually, filter IN) only new comments. Or, if that can't be done, to be able to mark comments that I'm not interested in as no longer new. Or, if that can't be done, at least get emails for any comments when they come in. (Formerly, I would learn a lot by looking at the new posts whether or not I've participated in the discussion. And as it works now, there are an unwieldy number of posts to sift through — sometimes, ones I've already dismissed — to look only at the most recent ones.)

Would this help? Click on View all, then filter by recently commented?

Interesting. It might get close if it worked as I would've expected. As you can see, though, some old things bubble to the top.

Even if these are sticky messages, I would really like to see new topics that nobody has commented on; sometimes without some of these long threads I don't care to see any longer. Also, I'm not sure why this order doesn't match the notification order.

However, I might be able to navigate it all ok, but there will messages I will never see because I'm not always sure what's really new. It would still be good, IMO, if new posts would generate an email to me. I'm not sure why that's missing.
