Bug: Selection menu persists after highlighting

After applying a highlight, the selection menu used to/ should disappear. Recently (I noticed it today), the selection menu doesn’t disappear after the highlight is applied. This means I have to manually dismiss it every time.

    Hi Robert,

The behavior you're describing is by design. On phone, the insights panel is open upon selection, and we don't currently dismiss it after applying a highlight.

This is different on tablet, where selecting a verse or word opens the selection menu (very similar to the insights panel, but in a popup), which is dismissed after applying a highlight.

My opinion… Until now, I thought the Insights Menu was just an improvement of the Selection Menu. It doesn’t seem distinct enough to differentiate it, and the fact that it behaves differently between tablet and phone also seems unintuitive. I would prefer the Insights Menu to replace the Selection Menu, but have two modes: persistent, when opening via the “Insights” button, and temporary, when selecting by dragging, tapping, double-tapping.

Completely agree. I really dislike having to manually close that panel all the time. I don't use the insights panel at all, but manage to open it in error quite frequently. Having it not close automatically is a real pain.
