In notes, the background color button-dropdown should default to the previously-used color.

That is the way other Windows programs I use behave.

The button's format shows (1) an highlighted "A" icon and (2) a dropdown arrow. (see image.) In other apps this would indicate you can click on one or the other and get different results. Pressing the "A" would apply the previously-used background (if any) but pressing the dropdown arrow would display the dropdown color picker.

The Windows-standard behavior is convenient and efficient. I often want to apply a background color to several pieces of text in sequence. Each time I can click the "A" to apply the previously-used background color without having to repetitiously visually identify it in the dropdown menu, thus saving time and mental energy.

Logos' method, however, requires me to identify the color (hopefully not picking a color adjacent to the one I want). It requires more mousing and more mental energy. This creates friction which disrupts my thinking process. It is an unnecessary speed bump.

In the Windows-standard functionality it is 1 click (while insuring color consistency). In the Logos functionality it is 2 clicks with the additional inconvenience of re-finding the color I want, hoping for consistency.
