Improving Biblical Search: Bridging the Gap with AI-Powered Real-Time Suggestions
Hello friends!
The traditional Scripture search function in Logos may have lost some of its relevance in the face of simpler yet more powerful searches made possible by tools such as ChatGPT.
For example, one of the most common tasks when writing sermons, taking notes, doing research, etc. is to quote a passage. Almost always you have an idea of the passage and what you need is the specific passage. For example, I set a little parameter for Chatgpt. I asked it that when I type "passage:+brief description", it should tell me in which passage the topic I am looking for is located. For example, "passage: the prophet asked to strike the ground", ChatGPT simply responds with
2 Kings 13:18-19.
And you can go even further. Include real-time suggestions. For example, if I were writing "Peter Calls for Spiritual Renewal," it would be invaluable if a floating menu could suggest relevant Scriptures (Acts 2:38), commentaries, or topical studies. This would streamline research without interrupting the creative flow. With the AI already embedded in Logos, this kind of intuitive functionality feels not only possible, but expected.
The idea is that, for now, you get nothing when you run a Bible search in Logos, such as "passage: the prophet asked to strike the ground..."
I know that Logos already automatically detects biblical references in your text and converts them into clickable hyperlinks. That's why I say improve.😁

Mark Barnes has advised they are working on introducing smart-searching tecnhiques to the Bible Search.
But, at the moment, you can get the sort of thing I think you are asking for using an All search
or a standard Bible search
What additional functionality are you asking for?

You can make a suggestion in the English Feedback forum (click on the
Feedback
heading), but some keyword would need to be provided as per "passage:+brief description".Dave
