This list has to be brief enough to be achievable, have a noticeable improvement in the application for some class of users, and preferably strengthen the base application for future improvements. Some of these are not things I would use myself but that I've seen the need for through the forums.

  1. Regular expression searches for Hebrew/Aramaic texts. The influx of Accordance users brings the need for this to the forefront.
  2. Add additional label types in support of featured events. This use was not considered by users suggesting topics so there are some glaring omissions e.g. name changes for an individual, type scenes such as the barren woman or woman at the well …
  3. For works by church fathers and pseudepigrapha/apocryphal work, show the datatype in Factbook. Ensure that all occurrences of the text are accessible by that datatype. In general, they are accessible but some of the shorter works have been short-changed e.g. Adam Octipartite. This would serve as an index to the Church Fathers and the pseudepigrapha which are often in anthologies and hard to find for the average user. It is also necessary for them to work in the text comparison tool.
  4. Expand Bible lesson builder and workflows to handle non-Biblical texts - think especially of confessions, catechisms, church documents, controversial books …
  5. Add support for structural studies. Because the terminology used is inconsistent across commentaries and Bible studies finding all the proposed chiasms, inclusios, parallels, acrostics, stair-steps is difficult. Simply listing them as proposed and giving a source would be sufficient. Similar tagging of proposed type/anti-types would be useful.
  6. Expose the grammatical and semantic role information in more visible form - the final removal from the Context menu all but made it invisible and the single element at a time change of elements shown in the search grid renders that an onerous task.
  7. Expose additional metadata e.g. expose the denominational data on commentaries. This would allow the creation of prebuilt sample collections to serve as models for building one's own and educating new users on the power of collections

There are many important items not on the list but if I listed my top 20, I would get none. By listing my top 7, I can hope that, combined with others' lists, we can see some actually be completed in the year.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Number 4 with the ability to perform function on Confessions and Catechisms would be a great feature improvement!

    Logos 10 - OpenSuse Tumbleweed, Windows 11, Android 16 & Android 14
