Samsung tablet tool bars not working.

The app works great for preaching and other similar uses, but when using it for studying, the toolbars at the bottom sometimes become unclickable. I will have to close and re-open the app for it to work. Where it causes a problem is during preaching. It would be nice to use my Logos Bible, but I'm too worried about the bars at the bottom going rogue.

What version of Logos do you have installed on your phone and tablet listed in the "About" section?

How frequently do you encounter this problem? Could you be more specific regarding the model of the phone and tablet? Being that the same problem is occurring on both your phone and your tablet, is it possible that an app or setting you use could be disrupting the touch inputs of the Logos app at the bottom of the screen? Does it only happen when you are accessing or navigating a certain part of the app?

I'm not aware of this having been reported as a general bug, but it would be very helpful to narrow down what might be triggering it.

@Aaron Hamilton Yes sir. It happens pretty much every time I open the app. I sent the "data log?" to Logos. I have a Samsung tablet s8 + and my phone is a Samsung s24 Ultra. To the best of my knowledge my tablet and my phone are up to date along with the Logos Software apps.

It almost seems like it happens if i try to change the Tab to quickly. The bars at the bottom (Dashboard, Library, tabs, bible, more) no longer react to touching. The app will still work and i can function on the page or even swipe back and forth between tabs but i can not do anything using the touch inputs.

There is also an issue with my tablet, if I try to edit a sermon from my tablet, it will not save it so i can view the edit on my laptop. (depending on the circumstance i teach from my windows laptop or tablet.)

I even tried joining the Logos Beta program for the app but I still have the same issues.

If you turn on auto rotate to switch to landscape or manually switch the screen from portrait to landscape, does the toolbar remain frozen?

If you manually "Sync your data" on the tablet (in the "More" menu at the bottom), does it sync properly, or do you get an error?

Have you tried a complete uninstall/reinstall of the app on these devices?

I would recommend leaving the beta version, uninstalling the app, and installing the stable version.

You might also try disabling Samsung edge panels and see if that helps.

You could also play around with Samsung's gestures/swipe actions or other touchscreen-related settings. It's possible that there is a Samsung setting that your devices share that is causing interference with the Logos app.

I do not have my tablet close by to test it out but I did go through and update all the apps in Good Lock (I did not realize they were out of date). I went into Logos and spammed different windows trying to get it to freeze up but it did not. Not exactly sure which update fixed it because i just happened to go into good lock and realized it needed updating and wasn't thinking about the Logos app.

I'll update you about the tablet syncing when I can. I've never had a problem with my phone or tablet syncing only updating sermons.

You may have just found the problem. Samsung Good Lock could very well have been causing problems with the Logos toolbar. If the problem occurs again, you might try disabling Good Lock to see if that fixes it.

@Aaron Hamilton So, the issue still happens, but it does not seem to be as frequent as before. I can turn to landscape mode, and they will work. However, when I turn it back vertically, they still don't work if this happens.

Ps. The manual syncing worked great 👍️

Glad to hear sync is working great and landscape works as a workaround. I still think Good Lock might be the cause. I would disable it (or individual modules one by one) and test to see if it still happens.

@Aaron Hamilton I will give that a shot. My tablet still will not allow me to upload my sermons to Logos Sermons. It keeps saying check internet connection… but im on here messaging you lol. But this isn't too big of a deal unless I have not sent my notes to the Media team yet.
