Sermon Builder: edit built-in text styles?

Is it possible to edit the default text styles? Mostly I'd like to change the heading styles to make the difference in levels more obvious (to me!). Previously when using MS Word, I would colour code the levels, and use bold and italics to make it clearer. I know that I can apply a style to each heading after I have set it as a heading, but would love to be able to default the styles.

Is any of this possible?

    I don't believe it's possible.

I also struggle to recognize the difference in the default heading styles. My workaround is to use Roman numerals, capital letters, numbers, and lower case letters at each level of the outline - as if I were creating a formal outline. I use these in addition to the default heading styles, so that I can understand at a glance where I am in my presentation.

It doesn’t look like you can change the default style to the headings. You would have to manually edit each of them. As you pointed out you can change the font, color and background color with the Aa button, and you can change the indent, bold, underline and italics to make them more noticeable. You could even use the bullet or number option…even a combination of them all. One thing I haven’t tried is writing it in MS word and copy and pasting it into the sermon builder. I’m not sure if the format would stay the same or not. Also I’m not sure I want to do the copy and pasting.

Thanks for the reply Maria. :-)

Ah, so your sermons look something like this?

    I. Heading 1
    A. Heading 2
    1. Heading 3
    a. Heading 4

Do you find that easy to follow? I was using colours, but they don't stand out well unless you use bold text. Highlighting is much better for that.

    Anyone else with some suggestions?

    Good morning,

I did a mock-up in Logos, and, I agree with you, it does look convoluted! But, yes, that is how I do it. I suppose when I'm editing, I'm actually paying attention to the outline to the left, which has spacing to help identify the levels; and, when I'm teaching, I'm paying attention to the Roman numerals/letters/numbers.

I hope someone chimes in with more ideas…

You can make a suggestion to Logos to allow for editing the default text styles of the headings. If you'd like to do this, go to "Feedback" at the top of the forums.

I'll gladly add my vote to it, if you do decide to create such a request!
