I have created a number of custom Highlights, but when I apply them a message says Highlight applied, but it doesn't show in the text. What Am I missing. A year ago they did, then suddenly stopped. the earlier ones appeared, but newer ones just applied didn't. Now new ones don't appear at all

Have you set "show notes and highlights" (under Notes) to show the highlights?

Yes that is set. the standard highlights do show. It is just my custom highlights that don't show.

It still sounds like the notebook containing your custom highlights is not requested in the list of notes & highlights to show. What notebook (if any) are the custom highlights in?

Then is "No notebook" checked in notes & highlights?

Yes it is. When I started using Logos highlighter tool to create my own highlights they worked. Then sometime after they stopped working. I ignored it for a time, and now started trying again. After they stopped working, the old highlights I applied still showed, but, new ones wouldn't. I finally deleted the old ones and replaced the highlights with standard ones, and they showed. Then, I created a new highlight and tried to use it. The highlight tool confirms that I applied the highlight, but it doesn't show. If I try to delete the new highlight tool the tool tells me how many times it was used and do I want to replace it. But all those applications don't show. If I pick that highlight filter in the notes tool, it will show me every where they were used, but the highlight doesn't show in the text. It is very confusing to me. I think I must be missing something, but I have no idea what. More confusing is that the original highlights I created worked for awhile then stopped. At first I thought that an upgrade changed something and eventually there would be a patch. but that hasn't happened. Now with the new subscription model I hoped that it would be fixed. but it is not. Sorry to be lengthy but maybe more information will help.

when you created your custom highlights they would have gone into a palette.
can you check what notebook is associated with that palette - details of doing this are at https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016517891-Annotate-Your-Books-with-Highlights#Manage

then check if that notebook is enabled in your resource.

I followed those instructions and checked. No notebook was assigned. that wasn't working so I changed it to Active notebook. That didn't work either. When I checked the notes tool it shows that the highlight was made, but it still doesn't show in the resource. Unless you have a different suggestion, I am pretty much done trying.

what notebook, if any, does the Notes tool show the note is in?

Is that notebook enabled in the notes display in your resource?
