Church Fathers in Greek?

I own a bunch of Church Fathers stuff which I greatly appreciate. However, it is entirely in English. Is there a Greek parallel resource available? I can't seem to find it if there is.

Thanks, and below is the resource in question.

There's miscellaneous volumes like Clement of Alexandria in greek. Catch as catch can. And of course, the Apostolic Fathers ones (Holmes, Lake, Lightfoot and Brannon). But the major source is https://www.logos.com/product/16530/patrologiae-cursus-completus-series-graeca-part-1?queryId=03a002b6702a9ba1c6d9c404b47a4bbf And much of Patrologiae is still prepub and going nowhere. But I like it, often showing up unexpectedly in word studies, and multi-book displays. It's partially morph-tagged (meaning most words tagged, unless they're unusual). There's also latin (mainly African).

    Example:

And a list (I renamed them so I could see what's inside, sort of):

"If myth is ideology in narrative form, then scholarship is myth with footnotes." B. Lincolm 1999.

    Hi @DMB,

Thanks for your help with the link and screenshot. :)

I was looking around in the set trying to find Justin Martyr's First Apology. Is there a specific resource in that set which has this? The whole set is sort of pricy, so I am thinking of just getting that specific thing about Justin if it is part of it, but I kind of think it isn't. Is that correct?

The easy way is to use something like https://patrologiagraeca.org/patrologia/en/tables-of-contents-of-patrologia-graeca/64-table-of-contents-volume-6-of-patrologia-graeca.html (searching for Justin Martyr).

However, since Patrologia is sort of a stack of collected manuscripts, you'd need to see if it has the one you want.

Here's the TOCs for volume 6 (commentary is in latin; text in greek):

And volume 6 for latin (more Justin):

Note that the commentary volume includes an index:

"If myth is ideology in narrative form, then scholarship is myth with footnotes." B. Lincolm 1999.

    Hi @DMB,

Thank you so much for the contexts link, and yes, that is exactly what I need. :) I guess I will go ahead and get vol. 6 of the set. Thank you again!

Logos needs to get on with it and release Migne at a steady rate - consider it a loss-leader to corner the market.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Remember there's 3 separate books (vol 6), depending on what you want.

"If myth is ideology in narrative form, then scholarship is myth with footnotes." B. Lincolm 1999.

An alternative to PG for Justin might be https://www.logos.com/product/46605/justin-martyrs-apologies-greek-text-with-notes?queryId=02f5b60948b50f69fd8a5d666949ddd1 contained in https://www.logos.com/product/9435/the-major-works-of-justin-martyr-in-greek (note that PG is a citable source for academic purposes, that work probably not). This is unfortunately not findable in the store or the library when looking for Greek language resources, since it is mis-tagged as English in both places.

For your Logos proficiency: I actually didn't search the store first for this, but Logos. The Early Church Fathers are usually well-served in terms of tagging with their respective datatype, thus starting from the set you own I went to Justin's Apology, selected right click, reference and then Power Lookup. This will give me all resources in my library that are tagged with 1 Apology 1, so I can quickly scroll down to identify Greek language ones.

This helps to identify resources I may own without actively knowing I ever bought them (that little treasure is e.g. contained in the Logos 9 Orthodox Silver library)

Have joy in the Lord! Smile
