Preset Presentations for repeated services in Proclaim

It would be great to be able to create a new presentation that has slides that I use every service already added in. Announcements such as Service Times I use every single time. I would like to not have to go and add it in every time I make the new presentation. same with my notes for my Pastor. I tend to have just use the same layout and change the titles and bullet points. So on.

Hi Bill, thanks for sharing your feedback! I'm curious — have you found it easy enough to 'Duplicate Recent' presentations and to 'Reuse Item…' as a quick way to get your content ready for the services each week?

(I'm not the original poster and i'm not saying my situation is the same as their's.) In my congregation, our liturgies vary by liturgical season (Advent, Christmas, Lent, …) Each week in any season is pretty much the same except for the hymns, readings, and sermon. We do use the Duplicate Recent feature to duplicate the previous week, to create a new one. The biggest issue we have though is making sure the elements that need to be changed are changed, and aren't missed in the long list of elements that are already populated with texts. As we rarely have uninterrupted time in the editing process, it can be easy to forget that a hymn didn't get changed, or a reading, … Being able to create some form of template with only a few elements to be added in would make it easier to move the work of editing from paid staff to volunteers.

We tried to create a template before which basically had blank elements in a few places. However during the Summer the "template" fell so far down the list of recent presentations that it got lost and the person doing the work just copied the previous week's presentation and edited that.

I do use the "reuse item" and "duplicate" options. I also use the group slides option which is very helpful. When it comes to Reusing a slide, It pops up with every slide I've ever used that's still saved in the cloud. I would love if there was an option where I could go to File>Insert>Template> and have a list of saved templates I use, Could be for titles, announcements, hymns, etc…Each saving the background, font, and everything. With that an option to make a slide and save it as a template would also need to be a feature.

We use the duplicate option, but it's kind of obnoxious because it carries over all of the sermon slides and songs, so we have to go through and make sure all of those are removed. A template (and some insert markers to identify parts of service) would be incredible.

Have you considered making a Template Presentation first (one you won't actually use for any service), and then duplicating that presentation for each service?

Everyone's already in the bad habit of just copying old presentations, so I haven't worried too much about it while I've anxiously waited for formal support for some sort of template system. 😂 I'll probably have to go to something like that eventually if the Proclaim team doesn't invest in some workflow improvements. They'd likely need to focus on something bigger than just a template for it to actually be what I'd hope for, anyway.

For instance, our service order is very consistent week-to-week:

Intro → 1 song → Announcements → 3-4 songs → Message → 1 song → Outro

That would reflect the template, I suppose, but I'd need the "Announcements" to source from a separate "Announcements" set. We usually show announcement slides during service as well, but those slides consist of both the slides that are in the formal announcements as well as some additional ones (these would be the same set we would show on digital signage).

A way to manage sets of announcements and the ability to insert them into signage and presentation templates (or even just as an item in a standard presentation, I guess) would be tremendously helpful.

Agree that some workflow improvements are needed. Templates totally makes sense. Media have default low-third styling to accompany the slide styling. Easy ability to move between announcements from multiple weeks and signage. Signage that can be displayed for a day of the week and not every day. They have a long way to go. At the same time, for all its annoyances, this program is the easiest quality church slides program for my volunteers to use.

I suggested the "template presentation" because that's what we do preparing for a new season or series, allowing us to work on it for a while and test out settings without accidentally confusing it with an actual presentation. Once we enter the new season or series, then we usually just copy week to week.

I actually created a template for the secretary (she is the one who does the slides each week, we don't have a lot of staff working in the church) and she would duplicate from the template and update the areas that requires update like the readings, prayer of the day, etc.

For someone who join recently, she is doing ok - able to duplicate the template and modify as needed, she just could not remember to reuse for songs. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️🤷

4K NDI Output
I would like to output 4K via NDI. I can't get this to work, and I don't see any settings/options. As a work-around, I am using a Dummy Plug to add an additional 4K screen to my PC and then using NDI Capture to transmit the 4K screen via NDI. I would prefer to use Proclaim's native NDI functionality.
