Microsoft Powerpoint

With Proclaim you can choose to control a PowerPoint presentation, which is fantastic. There are two issues with this feature that could be improved.
1. When you take control of the PowerPoint you loose the ability to have animated objects that only appear when clicking of the mouse or keyboard.
2. When recording the presentation it does not record the slides, just the audio.
I am relatively new to Proclaim. Is there a way to have either of these functions? If not are these improvements planned in a future release?

Hi @Rev. Derek Geldart - and welcome to the forums
1. When you take control of the PowerPoint you loose the ability to have animated objects that only appear when clicking of the mouse or keyboard.
You can use animations in PowerPoint (assuming you are running on Windows) by selecting the option to transfer control to PowerPoint. There are details on doing this in https://support.proclaim.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/19864456646157-Working-with-PowerPoint
2. When recording the presentation it does not record the slides, just the audio.
That's strange - it should capture slides as well. There is guidance on doing this at https://support.proclaim.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/19864352178317-Record-and-Publish-Sermons Are you basically following the steps outlined there or doing anything different?

You are correct. The PowerPoint allows the animations to fly in when a mouse click happens and my videos work that are in the PowerPoint but what Proclaim records is another story. It appears Proclaim does not record what is on the screen from the PowerPoint presentation. For instance, the video does not get recorded nor does the flying in objects. Am I missing some settings to record exactly what I see and hear from the controlled PowerPoint presentation?

Sorry - I missed those two being together.
I think, but it would be good if someone could verify this, that it you are transferring control to PowerPoint (which you need for animations) then Proclaim treats the PowerPoint as a single object and so can't include individual slides in its recording.
So I think you can have animated slides or slide recording - but not both.

Thank you for the verification! Are there any plans to be able to have animated slides and record them at the same time in a future release?

Someone from the Proclaim team would need to comment for a definitive response but, from my understanding of how animations are handled I would be very surprised to see this change.
